“Lea & Max”
Last saturday was the start of this year’s Philippine International Pyromusical Competition. I have been shooting this event since it’s inception three years ago. And believe me when I say that it is a challenge to shoot EVERY TIME.

Korea was the very first to light up the night skies. I had high hopes for them, especially after witnessing their show last year.
Maybe I was a bit rusty shooting fireworks (last I shot was last year’s competition) or maybe it’s because of the new & heavy lenses I have with me. Whatever it is, I am running out of interesting stuff to shoot (and the MOA bosses won’t be happy about it).

Next was Malta. While their national anthem was playing, I saw these couple standing on the sea wall. Finally! This is the kind of shot I was waiting for. I only had a few seconds to react and I still have to changed lenses, run through the crowd and climb on top of the sea wall. Just a second after I took this photo, the anthem ended and they went back down.

My impromptu models for the night, while enjoying the Maltese fireworks.
Thank goodness for romantics. Thank you Max & Lea.
