Thank Goodness For Romantics
“Lea & Max” Last saturday was the start of this year’s Philippine International Pyromusical Competition. I have been shooting this event since it’s inception three years ago. And believe me when I say that it is a challenge to shoot EVERY TIME. Korea was the very first to light up the night skies. I had high hopes for them, especially after witnessing their show...

Katy Perry
Katy Perry and the accidental photographer for Manila Concert Scene… I went to the media tent knowing that I will be shooting for SM Mall of Asia. To my surprise, I wasn’t on the list as a MOA photographer (oh no, not again!) I found out that I will be shooting for Manila Concert Scene. I don’t know how that happened, but being one of the only seven approved photographers,...

I don’t mind if people repost my photos. But if you’re gonna intentionally crop out my watermark and not give credit, then we’re going to have a problem. I am a professional photographer. I shoot for a living and I take my work very seriously.

We Can Be Anything
Apl.de.ap His life story is very inspiring. Proof that anyone can be anything with hard work and perseverance. Now that he’s made a name for himself, he’s giving back to the community by helping underprivileged kids thru education. Visit www.wecanbeanything.com for more information about his advocacy.  I am deeply moved. I have covered a couple of his events here in the Philippines...

Black Eyed Peas
The first 60 seconds… …of the first 3 songs. Not much of a pressure eh? The 3-song limit, that I can understand (for one thing, it’s unfair to obstruct the view of VIPs who paid top money to see the show). It has been the golden rule of concert photography since the 70’s. But who ever came up with the 60-second limit?!?! Argh! But who would dare piss off that dude with...

MISO: The Musical
I got the opportunity to witness this amazing musical called “MISO” while shooting for the Korean Tourism Night a few weeks ago. MISO is a narrative set in the Joseon Dynasty that tells of how an encounter between a young man and woman leads to an ardent love that matures throughout the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter.

30 Seconds To Mars
Tomo, Jared and Shannon during the 30 Seconds to Mars press conference held at the Edsa Shangri-La Hotel… a few hours before their Manila concert. This press conference, by far, is the most difficult I’ve done (difficult to concentrate that is), especially when the gorgeous Georgina Wilson is sitting right next to me.

My KLM Pitch
I am an artist and a photographer. Two things, in my opinion, that go very well together. They say photographers see things differently. But these days, thanks to everything digital, different is now normal. Having that fine arts background is my advantage over the others. When I was doing my thesis about travel photography, I met a fellow traveller in Camiguin and we got to talk about the...

On The Road: Angat
On the road again. This time we’re off to Angat, Bulacan. Part of the site inspection we’re doing for a future project. It started with a gloomy day and ended the same as well. Lucky for us the rain stopped while we’re in the Angat Power Plant compound, otherwise it would have been very scary with the sharp turns and cliffs and all. Due to logistical restrictions,...

On The Road: Pampanga
After visiting a site for a future project, we decided to check out what Pampanga is famous for… …good food. I called up my brother and asked which place he would recommend, and immediately said “Abe’s Farm”. To myself, hmm… sounds familiar, maybe not. It turns out, Abe’s Farm is the same as Abe, the place I frequently go to in Mall of Asia. But...

Resorts World
I had the opportunity to shoot the Resorts World Casino for a client who did their interiors. These are some of the shots I’ve taken with what seems to be endless hours of post-processing. Behind-the-scenes Me and my crew; with Mr. Allan, project leader.

Manila Hotel
This is what a P30,000-a-night hotel suite looks like… These were taken last year, while scouting a location for a photo shoot that didn’t push thru. Such a fine place, but my eyes are all over our hotel guide, who’s even finer :)

Hong Kong Emperor
Shot the interior of Hong Kong Emperor restaurant today… I’ve done several projects with them in the past. From shoots that last a few hours to a couple of days. But this one is the quickest, taking only 30 minutes from setup to pack-up. I guess when you’ve shot hundreds of panoramas before, it might seem like easy work.

Top of the World
12 hours ago, I was on top of a high rise building doing an ocular inspection for a secret project that I once dubbed as “the most challenging shoot of my career”. As far as I am aware of, this hasn’t been done here in the Philippines. I really hope this project pushes thru. I’m all set and excited. Unfortunately, my behind-the-scenes photographer was late, haha!...
